Chapter Twenty-Five

Tansy was all hot and bothered by the time she pulled the ATV into the shed. Somehow, Crain had managed to slide himself underneath her, leaving her bottom to bounce about on top of his lap. Whether intentionally or due to all of the bumping around on the ride back up to the Evans mansion, Crain’s hands and growing erection had managed to put her back in the mood. Big time.

She turned off the ignition and sat there in the quiet. Not moving. Sitting on top of what felt like a smoldering powder keg. Wondering how they could get it done in this unventilated shed without looking like they’d taken a sauna when they eventually emerged.

Wondering when she’d started thinking of sex in terms like “getting it done.” Tansy sighed. That was not her. And it definitely wasn’t Elizabeth.

Of course, she’d never pretended not to be married before. Or to be two people at the same time. If she hadn’t run out on him in Las Vegas, she and Crain would’ve probably had a nice, long honeymoon period and then settled into sex with a reasonable amount of time in between. At least more than fifteen minutes.

When she felt him lean down and suck on her neck, she nearly came undone.

“Apparently I have an all-access pass to the pool house,” he whispered against her skin.

At least the two of them were on the same page on this subject, Tansy thought. Only…“I’m not setting foot in that pool house.”

“Why not?” he whispered as he kissed his way up toward her ear.

“Because it’s Vance’s pool house. And until Piper showed up, Vance Evans was a dog with a capital D. There’s probably a revolving back door, and some sort of version of the red room of pain behind that tame pool house exterior.”

“Perfect. Because you deserve a good, sound spanking for what you’ve put me through.”

“Mmm,” she hummed as his hands landed on the bare flesh under her tank top. “And yet you remain undaunted.”

“True that,” he coaxed, ever so lightly caressing her breasts, causing her nipples to peak. “As long as your body keeps responding in ways that twist me up, I’m gonna keep comin’ and comin’ hard.”

“Figuratively or literally?” she said on a sigh as she leaned her head back to rest against his shoulder.

“Both. Damn straight on both.”

He wrapped her up firm and secure in his arms, squeezing her around the middle and back against his chest, conveying more than simple sexual desire. It felt like an endearment. And as much as it made her heart leap, it also sank a proportionate amount too.

Her emotions bounced around inside her chest. Everything from elation to dread. She should have told him about Pinks back there on the blanket when she had a chance. While the two of them were alone, away from the rest of the world. The thought caused her to go real still. Get real quiet.

Finally she whispered. “Maybe we should go see about this dinner situation.”
